Congratulations to Sabrin Bashar, PhD candidate in the SyMBIOTA lab at the University of Alberta, Edmonton who was awarded the third place poster prize at the 2023 WCHRI (Women and Children's Health Research Institute) Research Day.
Her research involves investigating the effects of prolonged hospital exposure after birth on the infant microbiome and risk of food sensitization. Sabin’s research has been funded by Dr Kozyrskyj’s CIHR microbiome grant, WCHRI graduate award (2022), MacPherson Graduate Award (2021), University of Alberta and the University of Alberta Graduate Recruitment Scholarship scheme (2021/22).
